Edgelands
Edgelands are the non-descript spaces between the Urban and Rural, an ill-defined, constantly changing boundary that separates the City from the Countryside, a wasteland wilderness that constantly assumes new identities when nature has to cope with the indiscriminate intrusive activities of ever expanding urbanism. Hodgson visits Edgeland places and spaces to photograph this otherness, to discover the hidden beauty and concealed delights that these ill-defined, underdeveloped, unkempt, and overlooked areas contain. He shows us, with exquisite detail, the true nature of these spaces, and celebrates and shares with us their hidden features in his photographs.
